Google Nexus One 첫 인상(Pic's and video) from Engadet

That's right, humans -- Engadget has its very own Nexus One. You've seen leaked pics and videos from all over, but we're the first publication to get our very own unit, and we plan on giving you guys the full story on every nook and cranny of this device. In case you've been living under a rock, here's the breakdown of the phone. The HTC-built and (soon to be) Google-sold device runs Android 2.1 atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch, 480 x 800 display, has 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, and a 4GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB).

The phone is a T-Mobile device (meaning no 3G if you want to take it to AT&T), and includes the standard modern additions of a light sensor, proximity sensor, and accelerometer. The Nexus One has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, and we have to say so far the pictures it snaps look pretty decent (and the camera software is much faster than the same component on the Droid). The phone is incredibly thin and sleek -- a little thinner than the iPhone -- but it has pretty familiar HTC-style industrial design. It's very handsome, but not blow-you-away good looking. It's a very slim, very pocketable phone, and feels pretty good in your hand. Thought you'd have to wait for that Google event for more on the Nexus One? Hell no -- so read on for an in-depth look. Engadet 에서 Nexus One을 입수했나 봅니다. 지금 부터 보실 사진 동영상들이 그것이라고 하네요. 제조회사는 알려지다시피 HTC이구요,  알려진 스펙은  Android 2.1 atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch, 480 x 800 display, has 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, and a 4GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB). T-Mobile 용으로만 나올듯 하네요. AT&T사용자들이 3g로 사용가능성이 없다는 얘기도 있는 것 같은데..;; 광 센서(a light sensor), proximity sensor, and accelerometer. <=이것들 두개는 무엇인지..@_@

 카메라는 5m화소에 LED플래쉬를 장착하고 있네요. 샘플이 매우 잘 나온다고 하는 걸 보니 카메라 성능이 괜찮은듯. 드로이드에 비해서 카메라 소프트웨어가 훨씬 빠르다고 나와 있네요.

 폰은 꽤 얇고 이쁜 것 같네요. 아이폰 보다 약간 얇고, HTC 스타일을 계승했다고 하네요. 멋있긴 하지만, 당신을 감동시킬 정도는 아니라고 합니다.ㅋㅋ  덧붙여 슬림하고 주머니에 넣어 다닐 만한 정도에 상당히 예쁜 정도의 핸드폰이라고 평가하네요.

Now, of course everyone seems to have one question about the device -- is this the be-all-end-all Android phone / iPhone eviscerator? In two words: not really. The thing that's struck us most (so far) about the Nexus One thus far is the fact that it's really not very different than the Droid in any substantial way. Yes, we'd say the design and feel of the phone is better (much better, in fact), and it's definitely noticeably faster than Motorola's offering, but it's not so much faster that we felt like the doors were being blown off. It is very smooth, though we still noticed a little stuttery behavior (very slight, mind you) when moving between home pages. Still, opening applications and moving between them was super speedy, as was Google maps, and any area of the phone where you've got to get through long lists. Don't get us wrong, the phone cooks -- but it's not some paradigmatic shift for Android.

Engadet 에서는 아이폰의 강력한 경쟁자가 되지 못할 것으로 예상하고 있네요.  아마, 기존의 드로이드와 큰 차이점을 보이지 않고 있기 때문이라고 예상하는 것 같습니다. 물론 모토로라의 드로이드 보다 빠르다고는 하지만, 문이 날아갈 정도로 체감할 정도는 아니라고 언급해 놓았군요.  마지막에서는 애플리케이션에 대해서 언급하면서,  이를 통해 Android로의 패러다임 변화를 의미하지는 않을 것이라고 하네요.

Google has also included some visual enhancements you've probably heard about, and minor UI tweaks which make getting around the OS a bit more direct. Firstly, there are a set of really snazzy looking "live" wallpapers, some of which react to touch, but all animate in the background while you're on the homescreen. The company has also changed up its application menu navigation a bit, killing the sliding drawer for a more direct home button and overlay of the icons (which no longer scroll off the page normally, but wrap around a 3D cube on the edges). Google has also expanded the amount of homescreens to five, and gives you quick navigation to them by long pressing on the new "dots" which represent pages not in view. While most UI details look and feel the same, from just a bit of typing the keyboard does seem more responsive and accurate, and we're guessing the Snapdragon helps there as well. Throughout the phone there are also new animations and flourishes which make Android 2.1 feel way more polished than previous iterations (including the Droid's 2.0.1), though it's still got a ways to go to matching something like the iPhone or even Pre in terms of fit and finish. Regardless, it's clear Google has started thinking about not just function but form as well, and that's very good news for Android aficionados.

구글은 visual 적인 면에서 많은 발전을 이룬 것 같습니다. UI는 OS를 좀더 쉽게 쓸수 있게 디자인 되어 있습니다. 동영상에서 보시다 시피 움직이는 바탕화면이 있고, (은하가 움직이는 것 같네요) 구글은 또한 홈스크린을 5개로 늘려서, 좀더 빠른 사용을 가능하게 해주었다고 합니다. 키보드 또한 반응속도가 좋고, 정확하며, 아마 스냅드래곤의 탑재로 가능하게 된 것이 아닐까 예상하고 있네요. 구글이 아이폰과 Parm Pre를 따라가기 위해서는 아직 갈길이 멀지만, 구글이 기능 뿐만 아니라, form (아마 사용의 편의성이 아닐까 싶네요)에도 신경쓰게된 것은 Android 매니아들에게 좋은 뉴스가 될 것이라고 하네요.

 요즘 읽고 있는 새로 나온 한일 전쟁 소설, 작전명 충무에서 위와 같은 시가 나오더군요. 예전에 한 번 시를 접했을때 마음 한구석에 큰 울림을 주었던 시라 다시금 그 메세지를 되새기고 싶어서, 이렇게 포스팅 해봅니다.

 지은이 마르틴 니묄러는 아이러니 하게도, 제1차 세계대전 중에는 U보트의 함장이었으나 전후 루터파 신학자가 되었다고 하네요. 나치스의 종교정책에 저항하기도 했으며, 제2차 세계대전 후에는 동서 독일의 통일을 주장했다니 2차대전때도 독일인이 모두 나치가 아니었나 보네요.

Google announces Android press conference for January 5th

Well well. Look at this. Taking a page from the CES-challenging Apple / Macworld playbook, Google has announced a press event on January 5th (just like we told you) in Mountain View, stating:

With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we've seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what's possible.

Please join us in Mountain View on January 5, for an Android press gathering.

If this lines up with the news we've seen recently, it's likely a Nexus One announcement will be the order of the day, and most (if not all) of your nagging questions will get answered. You know we'll be there live... so hang on to your hats, and mark down the date!

 구글이 1월 5일 안드로이드 관련 컨퍼런스를 개최하는 과정에서, 넥서스 폰 일명 구글폰을 정식으로 발표하게 될 것 같네요. 현재까지는 정식으로 발표되지 않은 상황이니~

 미국 날짜로 1월 5일면 아마 국내는 1월 6일 새벽 쯤에 기사가 올라오지 않을까 합니다. 아직까지 국내 사용가능 및 도입 가능성에 대해서는 언급이 없으니, 여유 있게 기다리는 수 밖에 없겠군요.

facebook에서 할 수 있는 재미있는 게임하나 소개하겠습니다.

 

 Restaurant city 라는 게임입니다. 흔히 심시티 같은 식당 경영 게임이라고 보시면 될 거 같은데, 재미있는 점은 페이스북 친구들과 함께 할 수 있는 것입니다. 친구들과 요리재료들도 트레이드 가능하고 요리들도 레벨업을 하는 재미가 있네요. 식당도 레벨업을 할 수록 더 커지네요. 약간의 중독성도 있습니다만, 흔한 RPG 게임과 같은 단순 노가다 게임은 아니라 심심할 때마다 조금씩 해도 충분히 재미 있습니다.
